[edit]We say "She was born as Catherine Uhlmyer in Manhattan, New York on April 4, 1893." Then we say "She was reported to be 11 in 1904 when she was aboard the General Slocum and it caught fire on the East River, in New York." Then we say "She lived in a Manhattan apartment by herself until she was 102" And then we say "She died in a nursing home in Wilton, Connecticut and was said to be 109 years old."
Do we know her birthdate, or not?
- We know it, it appears. The "said to be" phrase apparently came from an article that didn't include the birthdate, but there are multiple sources that do include it. I've changed the text. It seems like a beautiful and touching biography, btw :) Multi io 02:30, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
