The name of the Catepanate was derived from the name of the fortified town of Ras?
The greek name of the Catepanate, κατεπανίκιον Σερβλίας, literally means "Catepanate of Serbia". The people of Eastern Rome speak Greek. So how does the name of the Catepanate was derived from the name of the fortified town of "Ras"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.10.119.39 (talk) 16:21, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
