Category Management in Purchasing

I would be interested in views from users re: whether the discipline of Category Management in Purchasing is best treated separately from Category Management in Sales and Marketing. Should Category Management in Purchasing be a separate article? BobKilcoyne (talk) 06:19, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Suggestion

The Category management article starts with a definition which links CM to retailing and does not cover the development of Category Management in a supply/purchasing context. I would suggest that the article needs to be broadened to encompass this side of the term's usage.

Pls share your knowlege

dear friends, I am interested in consumer goods. I am doing my project in the same area. Actually i going to analyse all the distribution channels available for consumer goods and finally try to come up with a innovative distribution channel for the consumer products. For that first i should understand the categories of consumer products. If you are familiar in this area pls share your knowlege, which will be very much helpful to me.

I think it would be great to refer to the books of ACNielsen, Category Management of 1992 and Consumer centric category management.Whenever i had time, when i finish my M.Sc. on category management,i'll try to contribute this page for CM enthusiasts... @senthil, i don't know when you write this message but if you still want information, feel free to write here, i'll try to respond as soon as possible...
