Hi:
My name is Rosa Hilda Ramos. I am a community leader and environmental leader in the town of Cataño. Cataño does not have any trash incinerator. The environmental problems we had in the past were caused by the use of very dirty fuels by two power plants in the Catano vicinity. Our activism which included court actions against PREPA power plants, forced the use of clean fuels. The emissions that clouded our town no longer exist. We also got enough money to preerve and conserve wetlands to protect natural butterfly gardens. We evolved from being a town totally surrounded with sulfur emissions to be a town totally surrounded by yellow butterflies from the Sulfur genera.
We are a town of winners.!
Regards
Rosa
