766th Radar Squadron was Operationally part of Canadian 22nd NORAD Region at North Bay, Ontario
[edit]Our radar data was provided during some part of 1970s or longer to 22nd NORAD Region at Royal Canadian Air Force Base, North Bay, later to become Canadian Forces Base, North Bay. We were administratively under 21st Air Division, Hancock Field, Syracuse, New York, but operationally were under 22nd NORAD Region. I was the Communications-Electronics Officer from September 1971 until December 1972 and was Squadron Commander during about November of 1972. As C-E Officer in my Operations Officer role, I attended an Operations Conference at CFB Northbay which was held deep underground in the 22nd NORAD Region Command Center. I certainly wonder how long the radar data was provided to the Canadian 22nd NORAD Region. We were the only US site that did this. Look forward to seeing if anyone from that period at the 766th replies. 2600:1700:9750:AC50:B8DF:D998:4C3A:161A (talk) 18:05, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
