There's no mention about the fact that Castrovalva is an actual place in Abruzzo (Italy).
(Yes, there is when I looked at the page) There's a note somewhere saying that the perspective of this painting is self-contradictory. I don't understand how. This page could use somebody's explanation of this with, of course, a side diagram pointing out the perspective lines. Sobolewski 16:09, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
I don't know if this is the right place for this note (I'm not a regular contributor). I'm the author of the changes of Jan. 9th, that somebody reverted. I live near Castrovalva and know the places depicted there. The village in the far background is Cocullo and not Casale. Casale is a small hamlet of Cocullo, facing Cocullo but not visible from Castrovalva. The link in the article leads to Roccacasale, that is a different village, on the other side of the valley, along a different view perspective. Hope it helps. Enzo - 14 January 2013
