Although Castleton is (or was until 1975) the name of a huge parish, Castleton itself is a farm complex of four buildings on the B6357 road about 4 km north-east of Newcastleton. It is, however, named on the Bing Maps aerial photographs site, where the road past the farm is called Old Castleton. The farm presumably tok its name from the nearby Liddel Castle, which today is little more than a rectangular mound with a slight scattering of stones on top.Jamjarface (talk) 21:38, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
