Talk:Castle Crashers/Archive 1
Post
[edit]This page needs to be rewritten in some way that conveys even a little of the overall appeal and humor of the game. A list of the bosses and the Four main Knights (their abilities at least) seems plausible. Also, I thought the Painter deserved a little explanation about what purpose he serves (that is, he's basically an homage to Newgrounds users) among other little details. Making an article shorter doesn't necessarily make it better-- can't we add some humor without it being cut or rewritten? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.49.117.36 (talk) 17:15, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
That would make it more like a game guide. If anything there is a castle crashers wiki too —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.24.119.11 (talk) 12:17, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Ye Olde Side-scroller Merge
[edit]Ye Olde Side-Scrolller will be merged here shortly. Starmenclock 21:36, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
what about the flash game on newgrounds promoting this game PEOPLE and the information that you can unlock alien homanoid in the game if you have the game alien homanoid hd in your hard drive or memory stick and others —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.55.251.40 (talk) 07:37, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Launch Problems
[edit]These sections really need to be referenced, as right now it all looks like it is original research and should be deleted until a resource is found. Bobbyblade (talk) 18:39, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Agreed, it seems like it's just a few disgruntled players implying their issue is wide spread. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.14.67.76 (talk) 19:13, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, considering their website is being flooded so much that they have to shut it down, I'd say it is a severe wide-spread issue. I just read the "launch problems" section, and that's exactly what's happening to my copy of the game. The Xbox Live just refuses to work properly--James92326 (talk) 18:37, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Their independent hosting of their website has nothing to do with Microsoft's service. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.105.243.6 (talk) 01:56, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
All You Can Quaff could use a description
[edit]A simple one would work. I've not played it myself, so I can't add it. CardinalFangZERO (talk) 02:14, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
# of levels.
[edit]How many levels does this game have? --71.31.87.95 (talk) 20:45, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Well, the game's format resembles the old Super Mario World, where the character you choose moves from place to place on a map and it requires that you accept to go into the level to play it. These "places" include arena's (not involved in the story line), stores, blacksmith, etc. So, do you mean playable levels that hold barring to the storyline? Or the total number of places in the game? --Ticallion (talk) 00:50, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Alien's Name
[edit]Should the Alien Hominid be renamed to Alien? Thats what he is referred to in the game. KingKon97 (talk) 17:17, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
He's obviously based on the Alien Hominid, and that's what the official site calls him. May as well leave it.--76.10.75.168 (talk) 00:38, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
The official site doesn't call him that. The development blog does. The blog also names other characters whose names were changed for the actual game such as the Periwinkle Knight to Conehead. I think we should rename it Alien and say it and the enemies that appear in the game were based of the Alien from Alien Hominid. KingKon97 (talk) 00:43, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Edits
[edit]This article needs a major rewrite, it's close to a game guide then a wiki article. ALow (talk) 00:40, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
I agree, the entire list of animal orbs should be deleted. KingKon97 (talk) 16:59, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
All of the lists should be removed. We don't need to know how to unlock the characters, what they do, who their parents are, their blood type, just that there are characters to unlock in the game. The story section is also far too long. It should be cut down to a short but sweet summary. VerasGunn (talk) 06:09, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Official Names
[edit]You can view a characters name by seeing a friends profile while they are playing as that character. Doing this you can see the names of all the characters in the list are the same as they are seen in the game. This also applies for the bosses. When viewing a friend's profile while they're fighting a boss, it will say the name of the boss in their profile. Please stop changing character names because these names are in the final version of the game and if you have played it at all then you would know this. KingKon97 (talk) 18:56, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Out of hand
[edit]The story and gameplay sections are great, but instructive lists on weapons, characters and animal buddies do not belong on Wikipedia. I'm going to remove them as per WP:NOT. --Thaddius (talk) 02:12, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Female voices
[edit]Who cares about who did them? Why not to reveal who did male voices too? 78.88.117.116 (talk) 19:09, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- Kira Buckland is notable enough for her own article and credits are notable enough for this article. Added it to the "See Also" section for now.Cptnono (talk) 20:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- For me it looks like rather promotion of Kira (not terribly well known voice actor), than improvement of the article about game. Wasn't she the reason why female voices section was added to article in the first place? 78.88.117.116 (talk) 11:13, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- A whole section is overboard but a see also or mention in the info box seems OK.Cptnono (talk) 17:11, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Per WP:SEEALSO "it may contain a reasonable number of relevant links that do not yet appear in these places, links that do not naturally fit into the body of text (e.g. because they are only peripherally related to the topic)," makes inclusion sound fine. It does not fit anywhere in the article but is related. Also: "this section should generally not contain links that appear in the body text or in navigation boxes" so the other stuff may need to goCptnono (talk) 06:29, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Reception edit
[edit]IP71.62.120.224 decided to take out a bunch of the reception info. It had some good stuff (better than most of the sections in the article) and I do not see why it was removed. I'm would like to revert it but will wait a bit to see if there is reasoning behind it.Cptnono (talk) 18:19, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Character concern
[edit]There is a great chart showing the different characters and the unlock progression. Adding this image might fix the concern of the article being a guide while still showing an important aspect of the game. I do not know anything about the imaging licensing process so don't know if it is OK to take from here: http://castlecrashers.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Characters.JPG or if we need to get permission. Anyone know?Cptnono (talk) 20:28, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
