Cashbox charts lists

[edit]

I wonder if someone will post the Cashbox charts (Top 100, rock, dance, country, etc...) on Wikipedia? It can be interesting to compare it with Billboard Sd-100 (talkcontribs) 10:15, October 27 2007 EST —Preceding comment was added at 14:14, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree - there were sometimes big differences between the two and a comparison (and explanation of the differences) would be fascinating. Have the Cash Box charts ever been published in book format or online, as Joel Whitburn has done for Billboard? Ghmyrtle (talk) 14:15, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there was published in book format, however there some websites who archived the charts

the top 100 singles http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/randypny/cashbox/ http://www.cashboxmagazine.com/archives.htm Soul hits 1960-74 http://www.soulexpressradio.com/cashbox.html

I also found another site who compared the Billboard Hot 100 charts, Cashbox Top 100 and the Eurocharts at http://musicseek.info/ but they don't have any infos from 2005 to today. Sd-100 (talkcontribs) 17:40, February 8 2008 EST —Preceding comment was added at 22:40, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I created the first Cash Box charts list on Wikipedia with the 1969 year at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cashbox_Top_100_singles_of_1969 Sd-100 (talkcontribs) March 27, 2008 —Preceding comment was added at 22:13, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I dust-off the subject, the links to Musicseek.info don't work but fortunately the Internet archive saved a copy. https://web.archive.org/web/20070813165927/http://musicseek.info/

Also Joel Whitburn did recently a new book about Cashbox Top 100 Singles titled "Cash box Pop Hits 1952-1996". --Sd-100 (talk) 01:12, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Belated thanks to all. I've updated the article to include the latest version of each reference. —24.191.101.223 (talk) 09:35, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The bit about evidence and murder and all that.

[edit]

I removed it since I couldn't find anything out about it elsewhere. if someone cares to explain plus add in references, feel free to return it. --4.26.208.58 (talk) 23:38, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The story was in The Tennessean in a series of articles in the late 1980s. Someone with access to the back issues could document it enough for it to deserve to be reincluded; otherwise your action would seem to be completely correct. 2600:1004:B15D:B6F9:505E:4118:1CA3:CB4E (talk) 01:18, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
A bit more on the table from what I found on the following links, but I guess one solid evidence is to search for archived copies of the Tennessean.

I added a new paragraph on the topic with references. It was a well-known cold case at the time it was tried. Unsolved Mysteries has been known to get some of the facts wrong, so I did not use them as a reference, but it was widely covered by a number of reputable publications. I used a different take on the article to simply state what prosecutors alleged, not have the article reflect a statement of opinion, which would have violated :NPOV Oculus Dexter (talk) 14:12, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Online Demise

[edit]

I decided to look cachboxmagazone.com up after someone referred to it, and I find it gives a permissions error.

Here's the last Wayback machine entry:

Maybe some news to be had? Is cashboxmagazine.org the true new thing?

I wondered the same thing. Meanwhile Cashbox Canada is still online (as of 6 May 2022). https://cashboxcanada.ca --Sd-100 (talk) 13:54, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Cashbox Online is still around, plus the American edition is active. So Cashbox is no longer usable for charts per say even though they are separated genres? 67.43.190.226 (talk) 20:14, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
