Good Start
[edit]This looks like a good start to the article. I might try to get more in the way references and sources, if you can, and think about reformatting the list at the bottom so it's a little cleaner. Right now I think it relies a little too much headings. Maybe try to make a table? —mako๛ 22:10, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
general comments
[edit]Hey, @JPEspi: Good work on the article so far. I've got a few comments:
- It's a bit of fluff but here's a local source on a very old runner marking a personal best at Wolverhampton (at age 60). Here's another possible source though I'm not too sure how reliable it is.
- "The event organizer is Mr Neil Kendrick. He is part of Carvers Building Supplies. One of the main sponsors for the event." I'm not sure that the organizer will ever get a wikipedia article. Normally I love redlinking but in this case I think both the name of the current organizer and their business are a bit too detailed for a general encyclopedia.
- "There was an estimate of 2,300 participants in 2014." is probably better suited for the The Race section, also I'd copy-edit that a bit to say something like "an estimated 2,300 people participated in 2014"
- The bit at the bottom about being a registered charity can use an inline citation (even if it is just to the charity query page) instead of an inline link (as it has now with this link). There is already a cite to the history page but two cites for a claim like this is fine.

There were earlier Wolverhampton Marathons
[edit]e.g. this one in 1982. I realise it isn't the Carver sponsored one. 89.145.220.186 (talk) 09:24, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
