dab/rd

[edit]

Touring used to rd here; but I changed that to a dab, since Touring (card game) is forthcoming. I'm not sure why there used to be a backdab to Tour in this article, but it seems inappropriate. John Reid 07:37, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Touring logo.gif

[edit]

Image:Touring logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera s.r.l.

[edit]

Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera s.r.l. was the compnay named this way back in 1926? since the company was restarted 2006, seems the article is messing with the old and new company... --Typ932 T·C 18:51, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I commented on the "Bugatti" article in which you seem to have a similar concern (issues of new vs. old). I think you and I may see this differently.
Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera s.r.l. is/claims to be the legal owner of the "Touring" and "Superleggera" trademarks. As with Bugatti, the factory and administration disappeared long ago, but there has been a continuous chain of ownership of the trademarks from the founders to owner "B" to owner "C", etc. to an existing "modern" company, in this case Zeta Europe BV. While Touring ceased to produce car bodies, it never ceased *to be* as a legal entity. The trademark was never abandoned. From a legal perspective the current company isn't "new" because the company, as a legal entity, has been in continuous existence from the day it was founded (or the trademarks have been maintained by another legal entity).
To your point, there has been no continuity of administration, production facilities, products, sales and service, etc. Those aspects of the business have been created from scratch and could be referred to as new. Readers should know this and it is our job to convey that information to them via doing our jobs well. If we write poor articles, whether it's one or two of them, we aren't doing anyone any favors. Clearly one well written article that effectively conveys the history of continuous legal existence but no continuity of the other aspects of making car bodies is probably more helpful than arbitrarily splitting up that information. Splitting up the information into multiple articles, even if they are good, could actually be more confusing, not less.
My feeling is that if someone becomes aware of the "Touring" name due to seeing a Bentley Flying Star by Touring at an auto show or in a magazine and wants to learn more, my assumption is that they'd be most pleased to find one comprehensive article that walks them through the history of the brand - it's founding, success, fall into decline, dissolution and revival. To your point, a reader needs to be aware that the current iteration of the company is comprised of newly created administration, etc. We don't need to create a second article (here or at Bugatti) to make that point.
I concede that the article in its current form does not adequately convey the concepts I described above- it needs more work. That being said, and having read this comment (and also, ideally, the one I left at Bugatti) what are your thoughts? Despite the statements above, I'm open to changing my mind if your arguments are logical and persuasive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ch Th Jo (talkcontribs) 07:34, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion its wrong to say that the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera s.r.l. was founded in 1926, as it clearly is not. What comes to Bugatti that is brand that was forgot many years its wrong to give all the credits of the company to Volkswagen which has only used the name to create only one car, which has nothing to do with Bugatti. --Typ932 T·C 15:27, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In regards to this article, I believe I did not understand you at first. It seems that your concern is more focused than I understood and I now think I understand your concern as it relates to this issue and can make appropriate corrections. My apologies and thanks for the feedback. I will respond to your thoughts about the Bugatti article on that talk page. Ch Th Jo (talk) 19:57, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is a fantastic medium, but the Carrozzeria Touring page in English is regularly messed with and used for spreading false information. Already two times we had to remove false information (a.o. an added 'press release') about a so called Swiss company Touring Superleggera Markenverwaltungsgesellschaft AG. This company was already condemned by a Zurich court in 2009 and went bankrupt in the meantime. The law suit mentioned in this press release is non-existant! All these facts are verifiable.

The Touring Superleggera brand is subject to immoral trademark piracy by a person who registered this brand in Germany in 2003, only a few weeks after Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni regretfully passed away. The actual Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera srl. in Milan operates on the basis of the original trademark registrations, which originate in Italy and were further expanded into the world by Zeta Europe BV, who lawfully purchased these trademarks by notary act from the former owners Marazzi and Bianchi Anderloni. We feel that utmost scrutiny is required to prevent further abuse of these pages by trademark pirates! PVJ Koot for Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera srl

Verifiability

[edit]

The information added at edit 10:38, 1 June 2010 by 193.141.48.170 may be true and if so adds positively to the article, however it is subject to deletion under Wikipedia:Verifiability because no citations have been provided.

Please also note that the first section of the article is the introduction to the article and should be a summary of information that appears elsewhere in the body of the article per Wikipedia:Guide_to_writing_better_articles#Opening_paragraph. New information should be added to the body of the article and the summary updated when necessary.

I have reverted the edits because two citations were removed, I assume by mistake because one citation supports information that was not removed by the edit. Ch Th Jo (talk) 19:14, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

the logo is outdated

[edit]

Trying to update the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera logo, as the one in the page is outdated, a User:Ybsone listed for deletion on Wikimedia Commons the image, mentioning a copyright problem, saying as it is the company logo, it can't be my own work, but actually, i do work for Touring Superleggera, and im in charge for updating this page and the logo.

The page notifying me what happened, says "You can read and participate in the deletion discussion if you are interested or do not wish the file to be deleted. Thank y", but the deletion discussion says: "This page does not currently exist. You can search for this page title in other pages or create this page."

How can i update the right logo? it seems to be banned M.Duffau (talk) 13:46, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You are not the owner of the rights to the logo to claim "own work" licence. This is how non-free media are uploaded: [1] [2]. YBSOne (talk) 14:04, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested revisions

[edit]

In the "21st century" section, in the new paragraph for the Superleggera Veloce12, I suggest to add "Superleggera" to the name "Veloce12" as it is the correct complete name.

Wikipedia is forwarding information that was provided by journalists, no matter if company never claimed it, it is still a fact. Sourced and referenced. [3] [4] [5]
Your request will not be granted as this is not how Wikipedia works, we are not here to promote your business. YBSOne (talk) 09:59, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The name of the car is "SUperleggera Veloce12" 31.156.38.42 (talk) 10:05, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That part is correct. YBSOne (talk) 10:07, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate.
Please be mindful that we are still learning how to bring to the platform factual information. Your feedback and guidance is appreciated.
Could the same suggestion be applied to the Italian version of the page? 31.156.38.42 (talk) 10:10, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Editors bring information from reliable secondary sources, to mitigate the self-promotion of companies. Added new name here and there. YBSOne (talk) 10:17, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you,
Could I suggest the logo to the italian page to be updated with the current?
Also, the italian version does not appear to bring edits after the Aero3 model. Could the italian translation of what is approved in the eng version be implemented for AreseRH95 and Superleggera Veloce12?
Finally, could it be possible suggest the creation of the Superleggera Veloce12 page? 31.156.38.42 (talk) 10:21, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The sidebar in the italian version needs a refresh too, perhaps mirror the eng version. Is it possible to see same information in both language versions? 31.156.38.42 (talk) 10:22, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Separate page is not notable enough to exist other than a rdirect. YBSOne (talk) 10:25, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will, thank you.
How about the new logo on the italian version sidebar? can you take that suggestion and implement it please? 31.156.38.42 (talk) 10:28, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please ask here in Italian as I don't speak it [6] YBSOne (talk) 10:26, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will, thank you.

Add images for latest models

[edit]

Could I suggest to add some pictures: the Arese RH95, Arese RH95 Vento d'oro and one of the Superleggera Veloce12.

What do you think?

Thank you for your kind reply M.Duffau (talk) 12:40, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Images must be released to the Wikimedia Foundation under an acceptable free license. See WP:CONSENT for instructions on how to donate images that you upload to https://commons.wikimedia.org. Copyrighted or otherwise non-free images cannot be uploaded to Commons, but non-free fair-use logos may be uploaded to Wikipedia directly. ~Anachronist (talk) 14:01, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
as the page is semi protected, i can't update it, but i made the request right here M.Duffau (talk) 08:22, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Do you personally own the rights to these images? All three of these images have been used on the web before, mostly provided by the company. Anachronist linked you to WP:CONSENT for a reason. If not, it's not enough that you're editing on behalf of the company itself. The rights holder who has authority to make such a declaration must release these images under a Wikipedia-compliant license that irrevocably grants Wikipedia and anyone else the right to use the image in any way they want. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 13:13, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i opened a ticket for release of those image ( Ticket#2024100410003756 ), where i provided the necessary agreement for all of the mentioned media: Ticket#2024100410003756 https://ticket.wikimedia.org/otrs/index.pl?Action=AgentTicketZoom&TicketNumber=2024100410003756 M.Duffau (talk) 09:53, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
my request for these images has been approved, here are the links for the images:
File:Superleggera Veloce12.jpg
File:AreseRH95 artic grey.jpg
File:RH95 vento doro.jpg
if in some reasonable working days they will not be uploaded by the community, i will;
Thanks M.Duffau (talk) 10:38, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update

[edit]

I uploaded the images for the section: list of Touring cars: can someone pls upload them? File:Superleggera Veloce12.jpg File:RH95 vento doro.jpg File:AreseRH95 artic grey.jpg — Preceding unsigned comment added by M.Duffau (talkcontribs)

@M.Duffau: No. And now you see the reason why the page is protected. We cannot publish copyrighted works that haven't been released correctly.
You have declared that these images are your "own work". Did you create them? Are you the photographer or 3D artist? The creator of those images is the copyright holder, and we need consent from the actual copyright holder, or legal representative, to release those images to the Wikimedia Foundation under a free license. We do not accept a release from some random Wikipedia account, we need verifiable communication from the copyright holder. For the third time you are being told, see WP:CONSENT. It provides the instructions. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:24, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@M.Duffau: Thank you for releasing the images. I have added them to the article, two in the "21st century" section and one in the "list of touring cars" section. I had to crop two of the images so that they would appear properly as thumbnails. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:52, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
