Incongruity
[edit]There appears to be a serious incongruity in this article, and I hope that someone with more knowledge of CarDiv 11 can clarify the text here. The first paragraph states that Carrier Division Eleven was established at Pearl in August 1944, and comprised units based around Saratoga and Ranger. However, in the second paragraph we read that Admiral Arthur W. Radford was given command of the Division in July 1943 (that is, fully 12 months BEFORE it was supposedly officially established!) Perhaps CarDiv 11 was originally formed at some (as-yet unspecified) date before July 1943; later on, in August 1944, it was (re-)established (?) as a specialist night-operations carrier division, having previously performed more general (daylight) carrier operations?
