[edit]Actually, the method that described at the page, always called "ручеёк" (streamlet)
Carousel is another thing: to by clear voting bulletins in change to already filled near the door
"Carousel" instead of "streamlet" began to use Moscow journalists during the Duma elections in Desember 2011
It was a mistake but now this is in active use — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.91.231.7 (talk) 15:04, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm not sure I understand what you mean exactly though. Also, do you have any sources we could link to? Regards, Malick78 (talk) 23:29, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry for the lang in advance. Just look at the RusWiki. Carousel voting means acquiring mutual profit by the illegal voting scheme. Imagine that One Man went to elections, but took his ballot out of the election hall. What happens next? He takes a stand near the hall entrance and offers some goods (money/alcoholic beverages/etc) to a Random Person who came to vote to this place. If the person accepts conditions of this illegal scheme, OM gives him his already filled ballot. But...what's the use?...Where is the carousel? The key point is that RP must take out his own blank ballot then exchange it for goods mentioned. RP leaves, then OM fills RP's blank and continues to wait for another RP not far from the entrance. Whoo!...that's what I call going for a spin! (c) I mean, it is true that the person is often random. 93.175.13.144 (talk) 02:40, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info. Do you have sources though we can use? I'll check the Russian WP in a minute... Malick78 (talk) 11:08, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- The Russian page describes your method as the 1st version, then it describes a 2nd way of doing the carousel - the way described here on this page. It doesn't mention "ruchejok".Malick78 (talk) 11:13, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Here is the interview with the main regional politcal strategist, who preferred to stay anonimous.1 It contains coarse language, so the essence will be provided below in a subtle literary adaptation (LA). Well, this man states that mass media misunderstood the meaning of the carousel technology and erroneously made so-called substitution of notions. LA: 2 Just hope that your Russian is better than my English. Also, it should be emphasized here, that all these terms are slang expressions, so searching the real meaning could be possibly harder than it looks like. To begin with, let's trust that man. He also noticed that these two illegal schemes just slightly affect the result and the real 'action' takes place during a vote count. - Ok, I see what you mean: these two guys think that the media have been using the wrong terms. And they might well be right - but according to WP policy, we have to go with popular usage and reliable sources. So, I suggest that the article adds the word 'ruchejok' as an alternative, but remains the same till an authoritative source is found. What do you think? Malick78 (talk) 20:11, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Are we talking about the article composition? If it is so, then I should provide some reliable sources to reveal the exact meaning of the slang terms. Ah...RS, the eternal problem...sometimes I question the reliability of most sources from the Wiki's point of view...I think that the deep relaxation should recover my warped consciousness =) Well, returning to the issue. To my mind, the dictionary article could solve this, but unfortunately I found nothing. Considering the ambiguity arised, we should act wisely. I noticed that you have added some information to the article. But the description seems still incomplete to me, because another point of view is absolutely missed. Talking about the reasonable solution, the article should contain my first description, then expanded enWiki description with corresponding notification of ambiguity. What do you think? 93.175.12.171 (talk) 00:02, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

Here is a source for the following OSCE definition: "“Carousel voting” involves voters in sequence casting premarked ballot papers in substitution for the blank, ballot papers they receive at the polling station; the blank ballot is smuggled out and premarked for the next, participant. Voters are often paid to participate in such a scheme." (Page 19, Footnote 2: http://www.osce.org/odihr/elections/armenia/14054?download=true) Mrtschmid (talk) 18:25, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
