I only liked this show because of Richard. He had such witty remarks and comebacks. Roman Soldier 04:11, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Looking for help writing an article about the spin-offs and crossovers of this series
[edit]I am writing an article about all of the series which are in the same shared reality as this one through spin-offs and crossovers. I could use a little help expanding the article since it is currently extremely dense and a bit jumbled with some sentence structures being extremely repetitive. I would like to be able to put this article into article space soon. Any and all help in writing the article would be appreciated, even a comment or two on the talk page would help. Please give it a read through, also please do not comment here since I do not have all of the series on my watch list. - LA @ 16:18, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Unsourced material
[edit]The following is unsourced information:
- For a time, the show aired at Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m., opposite the ABC sitcom Spin City, which starred Michael J. Fox, who played Thompson's son in the Back to the Future trilogy (1985, 1989, 1990).
- While shooting the 1997-1998 season finale, Malcolm Gets was injured when running from a group of bulls on the studio's main lot, in a setting which had the main characters vacationing in Spain during the annual Running of the Bulls. In the storyline, Richard was caught on a street corner with a bunch of locals when the bulls entered the streets, with Caroline and the others alerting him to get out of their way. Richard tried valiantly, but as he ended up being the final one running through the streets, the camera gave the illusion that Richard was attacked from behind by a bull. In real life, Gets was in the middle of this chase scene when he ran down a grassy hill and was knocked flying by a stray bull, sustaining injuries to his head and limbs, but he soon recovered. This was a very unusual case, since most actors have stunt doubles to handle these scenes; Gets however, insisted on doing this himself.
While this is interesting, we can't use it unless you provide a source. Also, none of this is really trivia, as trivia by its definition is "unimportant information" - it therefore shouldn't be in a trivia section but instead the information should be incorporated into the main article. - Tbsdy lives (talk) 14:37, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- claim #1 is a nullity and claim #2 is baloney. Malcolm Gets obviously did his own stunt, but there was no grassy hill as the scene took place in a paved street. The animals were mostly bull calves and one bull. Gets tripped intentionally between a bull calf and the bull as they were passing him. The shot was done with all three of them in profile and the bull in the foreground, thus blocking the sight and not revealing how much space was between Gets and the animals. When he is on the ground, unharmed, a person on horseback can be seen entering the frame, probably the animal wrangler in charge of directing the bulls. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.115.35.178 (talk) 15:13, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
Date range
[edit]According to imdb.org and tv.com the last original airdate for a Caroline in the City episode was April 26, 1999. I'm going to change it. --Selfish Gene 2009 (talk) 22:27, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm surprised they still maintain a website for the show almost a decade after it was canceled. --Selfish Gene 2009 (talk) 23:28, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
notability of guest appearances
[edit]Is there a reason why we need a list of notable guest stars for the show? I can understand there were crossover episodes where actors play their NBC characters, but it's a standard sitcom, so appearances by other NBC actors are normal. Can we delete this section or trim it down to the crossover notes only? AngusWOOF (talk) 23:39, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- Well, Marvin Hamlisch appearing as himself is noteworthy. And he is neither an actor nor does he a crossover… — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.115.35.178 (talk) 15:16, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
I'm surprised that Jo Anne Worley isn't listed when she plays such an integral part in the plot of an episode (Caroline and the Sandwich).2601:644:8502:840:9BC:2090:EEE7:458 (talk) 01:56, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
