url with description dated 1936

[edit]

[1] 1936 was before jump blues so the article is wrong in its current form. If I don't come back to fix it, maybe someone else will. Steve Pastor (talk) 20:25, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to clean it up, though I am having troubles finding the reference materials to back up what I know of Carolina Shag. Hopefully someone with hard data will come in and help me out. --Rpqmartin (talk) 18:58, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Poor dance description

[edit]

Carolina shag#The Shag Dance defines this dance style in terms of a "slot". "Slot" is only mentioned this once and is not defined. I'm guessing that this is jargon, since dances are usually danced on the floor, not in some sort of slot. Jargon is confusing and unnecessary. Someone who knows this dance should write a clearer description, using well-defined English. David Spector (talk) 17:52, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Now that I've looked at some videos of the dance, I think "slot" is meant to mean, "using predominantly forward and backward steps," so maybe that would be a better description? Also, I think the basic pattern of steps should be easy to describe. Just maybe not by me. David Spector (talk) 19:58, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
