Is this someone's resume?
[edit]This looks more like someone's resume than an encyclopedic article. Smacks of self-advertisement... I wonder who "Designr" is. 68.122.69.146 05:57, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
I just like the name Twombly, it is an inherently great last name. Try saying twombly without laughing. You cant! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.12.40.101 (talk) 20:38, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Resume? No, this doesn't seem like anything but a humble encyclopedia entry. Maybe it is a stub though. I don't know the protocol. I do know that it's important to keep the entry, if not expand on it. Twombly has made a huge impact on graphic design because her typeface designs have been so integrated into the products and software of both Adobe and Apple, two of the most influential companies on the desktop publishing industry, companies whose technology spurred a revolution of print and communication methods. Because people like Twombly championed typography and created faces during the early stages of their business, variety and excellence in letterforms is now a greater part of publishing. Oh yeah. And designers joke fondly about the ubiquity of Trajan in every movie poster of the last 15 years. 71.131.204.207 (talk) 16:06, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Hah! One thing it isn't is self-promotion. Carol Twombly is retired from typeface design, highly averse to any publicity, and generally refuses (or doesn't even respond to)(interview requests. Thomas Phinney (talk) 00:47, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
You can find a thread with a lot of background info about Carol Twombly, especiall about what she was doing after she left Adobe here: http://typophile.com/node/32680. A bit farther down, someone posted lots of information.

Concord, USA
[edit]Some sources (i dont remember them right now) say that Carol Twombly was born in Concord, USA. Google Maps tell me that there are two "Concord" in the US: one in CA and one in NH. Does anyone know what is the location she was born? It would be a useful addition to the article.

Surname Pronunciation
[edit]I need to know the pronunciation for a project - is it Twombly as in "two" or to rhyme with "Womble"???? 14.201.109.235 (talk) 06:54, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
