historic library article

[edit]

Hi, i contributed to the Prescott Public Library article including at least some of the content about the historic Carnegie library. I think that article may have my photo of the historic building. It is fine by me for there to be a separate article here about the historic library. The other article should be edited to move the NRHP infobox and some other content to here. Further the current name of this article "Carnegie Library (Prescott, Arizona)" seems fine and good to me, despite the fact that the NRHP listing name is "Prescott Public Library" and should remain as that in the NRHP infobox (and should be mentioned in the lede here. --doncram 21:38, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi doncram, thanks for the recommendation on how to improve the page. I originally saw the Prescott Public Library wikipedia page but this topic was requested as a part of the Arizona History wikipedia project. I added the infobox and it actually adds more depth to the topic and history as well. Thanks. edthat2
Well just because it was on a list doesn't mean it has to have a separate article. One option would be just to redirect this topic to the already existing article.
Okay, so now I have removed the NRHP infobox from the other article. And I revised a bit here. The other article still has more about this historic library, including a full letter requesting Carnegie funding, which I like but should probably be moved to here. This article needs to be longer and more detailed than coverage provided in the other article. This article needs to be developed out more. Otherwise why have two articles? If you are developing here, you need to revise the other article too; you can't just add duplicative coverage into Wikipedia, IMHO. The other article needs to have a shorter, summary section about this article with a link to this one. --doncram 16:20, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
