Why does Carlos Gutierrez not have a listed college deg? Pleas post it.

His Lack of a College Degree

[edit]

Link at [[1]] offers the following: "After spending years with his family moving from city to city Carlos found his first job in Mexico City in 1975 as a sales and marketing trainee. It was there where he met his wife and started taking business administration at a local university. Even though he never had time to finish his degree, he was eventually promoted to corporate headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan". His official bio at [[2]] doesn't mention a degree so can it be presumed in the article he didn't earn one? Nigel 13:35, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Position on Illegal Immigration

[edit]

Gutierrez spent a goodly amount of time in 2007 supporting the proposed legislation to give a special path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. This proposed legislation was essentially a reward for illegal behavior because it allowed illegal immigrants a new path to citizenship not available to immigrants who entered America legally. Also, the proposed legislation merely required payment of back taxes, whereas a legal American citizen who didn't pay his/her taxes might well end up in prison. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.44.144.158 (talk) 01:17, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Category?

[edit]

I don't see in his categories a list of minorities in U.S. Government. If there is such a category already within Wikipedia, please help me locate it; if not, could someone please create it? I don't mean specific race or cultural categories (Cuban Americans in U.S. Government), but minorities of all types . . . or perhaps a category within a category, e.g., Minorities in Government, Minorities in U.S. Government, then the various minority group categories, or U.S. Government, Minorities in U.S. Goverment, then the various minority group categories. I think that a single list pointing to articles about minorities in U.S. Government would be invaluable to those who wish to research the balance in U.S. Government between Caucasians and minorities. Cleanup professional life section

[edit]

It looks like an editor copied direct quotes and pasted them in this section, such as "Gutierrez's strategy, dubbed Volume to Value, was to grow sales by shifting resources to higher-margin products." The content seems useful, but someone (preferably the editor, 216.189.172.143) needs to paraphrase this to avoid infringement.Athene cunicularia (talk) 16:28, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reeks of autohagiography

[edit]

Reads as though cherry-picked by aides or flacks from the happy-happy folder in the clippings file on the man. I know this is not a very constructive comment, but really, this is the sort of thing I have no patience for trying to fix. I can Google this stuff up myself, and none of it, merely parroting-gisting what the mainstream press has said about the guy, gives me any real insight into the career of the hagiographed subject.

Not an enemy of Wikipedia (I use the totally groovy Wikimedia software on 127.0.0.1 to organize my so-called thoughts) but not convinced that it has any real possibility of offering us the USDA Choice information it says it needs $7 million to provide us. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.102.175.188 (talk) 19:09, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I guess Wikipedia forgot to consult you. Feel free to obtain some patience and fix it.Athene cunicularia (talk) 02:04, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Political Promotion?

[edit]

Ist political promotion allowed on wiki? Or, should this sentence be removed-In August 2016, Gutierrez endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, stating that Donald Trump's economic policies were a "disaster".[38] In 2020, he endorsed Joe Biden for president.[39]Maryphillips1952 (talk) 01:33, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
