The result of the move request was: moved to Carlos Arias Navarro. Favonian (talk) 10:17, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Carlos Arias-Navarro, 1st Marquis of Arias Navarro → Carlos Arias Navarro – Arias' noble title (awarded to him late in life) is not what is notable about him -- his service as a politician, under his simple name, is. Just about every other language Wikipedia, including all the languages of Spain, use his simple name. Essentially this is the same rationale as the successful move request earlier this month at Adolfo Suárez. And this is an even more "meaningless" non-notable title; Arias died without heirs and thus was not just the first but the only ever Marquis of Arias-Navarro (also note that the current title of this article is factually inaccurate; the marquisdom is "Arias-Navarro," i.e. hyphenated compound name, while the man's name itself is "Arias Navarro," not hyphenated, as Arias was the paternal surname and Navarro is the maternal surname). Google shows 635,000 hits for "Carlos Arias Navarro"; 5,700 for "Marquis de Arias-Navarro". Britannica calls him simply Carlos Arias Navarro. Encyclopedia of World History has Carlos Arias Navarro too. ``` t o l l ` b o o t h ` w i l l i e `` $1.25 PLEASE ``` 03:53, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- Support. Here is his AP obit. The subject is described as mayor, interior minister, and prime minister....No mention of him being a marquis. Kauffner (talk) 09:52, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- Support. Yup, same case as the others, the title wasn't important, and he was given it upon his exit from the relevant post. It's the rough equivalent of sticking one of the many medals and awards retired statemen get in the title of the article. SnowFire (talk) 23:03, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
- Support, as per the rationales above. The title is irrelevant here. Jezhotwells (talk) 00:40, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
