Biographical details and categories
[edit]We have sources clearly saying that de Fornaro was born in Calcutta and "reared in Italy and Switzerland". Also that he is a "member of the family of Pope Alexander VI".[1] Given that Alexander VI Borgia lived from 1431-1503, that isn't saying much. He is also described as being born "of Swiss-Italian parents"[2]. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether that means "Swiss and Italian" or Italian of Switzerland (Ticinese).
The article intentionally never identifies him as "Italian" or "Swiss" or "Indian" because we have no reliable sources affirming any of these identities. His entire career, on the other hand, was in the US (except for 3 years in Mexico), so his occupational "nationality" is pretty clear. --Macrakis (talk) 22:03, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
