I'll review this article, though it may take a few days due to its length and importance. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 02:48, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Here are the issues I found, to start things off:
- Lapland in the caption links to the dab page instead of the one in Sweden.
- I'd move a couple of the images to the left side just to make the article a bit more dynamic. That's just my preference though, you don't need to.
- The split tag on the biography section needs to be addressed. Personally, I think the article's length is fine as is, and nothing needs to be split out.
- The citation needed tag in Systema Naturae needs to be addressed.
- On Expedition to Lapland, the expansion tag needs to be addressed. Again, it seems ok to me but others might disagree.
Once these are addressed I'll give a full review. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 14:59, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
I'll give a full review by Wednesday, though since the above concerns haven't been touched I'm a bit reluctant to. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 03:19, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
- I hope the nominator will return to work on this article. In the meantime, to stop the nomination falling at this early hurdle, I have taken the liberty of addressing all the points above. Please continue with the review. --Stemonitis (talk) 07:11, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- The fixes look good, so I'll provide the review as soon as I can. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 04:12, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Here are my remaining concerns:
- "Botanical historian E. L. Greene described Flora Lapponica as "the most classic and delightful of Linnaeus’s writings"." this needs a citation.
- "When Linnaeus reached Harderwijk, he began taking his degree immediately" not positive what 'taking his degree' means. If it means earned or acquired (it sounds like it does), that may be a better term to use.
Through his life, will finish the final sections tomorrow. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 04:23, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- I've added citations for both of those (it turns out that degrees were not stringently examined at Harderwijk – you learn something new every day!), and altered the main citation style slightly. --Stemonitis (talk) 16:51, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
Looks good. Here's my final notes:
- "The von Linné name ended with his son Carl jr." Jr.
- "Its prime importance is perhaps that it is the primary starting point of plant nomenclature as it exists today." Would prefer a cite for this, as well as the following two planetarum subsections.
- The Linnaean taxonomy section needs to be sourced.
The rest looks good, so once this is fixed I'll pass the article. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 02:59, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- I've removed the "jr.", since I've never heard Carl Linnaeus the Younger referred to in that way, and it should be clear from the context who we're talking about. I've added references for "starting point" and the section after (I couldn't find any source claiming that Systema Plantarum was particularly significant, so I've removed that short section). I have left messages at various projects (Plants, Animals, Tree of Life and History of Science) asking for help with referencing the last section; hopefully that will bear fruit soon. --Stemonitis (talk) 08:23, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- Any luck on the last section? Wizardman Operation Big Bear 15:17, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
- There have been one useful comment at WT:PLANTS, but nothing anywhere else. It is looking like I'll have to do it myself, which will take a little longer, I'm afraid. Do you mind if it takes another week or so? --Stemonitis (talk) 16:18, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
- Update: the nominator is back online, and is optimistic about referencing that section during the week. --Stemonitis (talk) 08:32, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sounds good; I'll give this another few days, and hopefully this can finally be resolved. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 15:44, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
I went ahead and hid the content until the sources can be added to that. Since that's all that was left, I'll pass this as a GA. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 17:40, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
