Page move

[edit]

@Laiwinglong: I have reverted your move because CIHE is still the common name and is a better natural disambiguator. NM 03:05, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Mahogany115: We can move over to the new name once reliable sources written after the change is announced routinely use the new name per WP:NAMECHANGES. As of today, sources containing the new name are all about the name change itself. NM 20:22, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Per a request at WP:RFPP, I have move-protected the article. Please use WP:RM to resolve. Johnuniq (talk) 06:28, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: moved. We appear to have consensus to move, but no consensus on a specific title. Per WP:NOTCURRENTTITLE, I am choosing Saint Francis University, Hong Kong, as it was the only option for which a policy-based rationale was given, and nobody explicitly disagreed with it. If parenthetical disambiguation is preferred, another RM can be opened. (closed by non-admin page mover) ASUKITE 16:16, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Caritas Institute of Higher EducationSaint Francis University (Hong Kong) – The institute had acquired university title and renamed "Saint Francis University" under approval from the Hong Kong government on 9 January 2024 (more than 7 months ago). The institute uses the new name across its website and communication materials. Media, including South China Morning Post (1, 2) and The Standard, adopted the new name in their articles. The Hong Kong government Security Bureau also uses the new name. Cfls (talk) 07:08, 12 August 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Safari ScribeEdits! Saint Francis University, Hong KongSaint Francis University (Hong Kong) – The comma may imply an affiliation with the unrelated US-based Saint Francis University. For entities of the United States, Hong Kong, and many other regions, using a comma followed by a geographical name after an institution’s name is a common practice for naming affiliated or related branches, such as University of California, Los Angeles, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal. To avoid any potential confusion or unintended implication, it would be preferable to replace the comma with brackets. Cfls (talk) 19:59, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
