Was the book first published in English or in Polish? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:30, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell in English only. If I knew of an earlier Polish published version I would have included it, and it would have been likely to have been mentioned at least on zbMATH where I would have seen it (I did look at the Neumer review there despite it being in German). One of the reviews talks about it being written as a draft in Polish and then translated (with the delay caused by the translation as a reason for some recent results being omitted). I didn't see any information about who did the translation or whether it might have been Sierpiński himself. His earlier book Leçons sur les nombres tranfinis on similar topics seems to have been published only in French. —David Eppstein (talk) 06:18, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@David Eppstein: Interesting. I did some digging and you seem to be correct, the book doesn't even seem to have a Polish translation. I didn't realize PIW, during the communist times(!), would publish a book in English only. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:23, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
