Co Captain
[edit]What is a co Captain? Aren't they the same thing as a vice captain?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.107.152.37 (talk • contribs) 14:58, 2 August 2010
- Sorry for the late reply, but co-captains share the captaincy, whereas vice-captain only takes over if the captain is unavailable. It is mainly a nominal role, so there isn't that much difference between a captain and "senior members of the team", a "leadership group", co-captains or the traditional captain/vice-captain setup. - Another (very) late reply, but my understanding is the difference is just PR, when someone is "Captain" they are the face of the whole team (Usually at meetings/press conferences alongside the Coach), but "leadership groups" of the teams probably do make most decisions on a group basis. I guess some teams think this is too much responsibility for one person and as the responsibility is shared anyway they share the attention/scrutiny among multiple people.
