A430 February 2006 Mostly sold in U.S.; first A4xx with microphone.
I absolutely assure you my A400 (September 2004) had a microphone, and a speaker capable of playback of audio recorded by the microphone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.14.232.226 (talk) 13:42, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced by the claims for a US/Europe split either. A quick check of eBay UK just now showed a clear bias (a ratio of about 3:1) in favour of the A430 over the A420, which fits with my own memory that the A430 was advertised widely in Britain - which is part of Europe, after all! Manual control?
[edit]Is it correct (as the article table suggests) that A720IS was the last model ever featuring full manual control? (Manual aperture, manual shutter, manual white balance, etc?) Sounds unbelievably stupid of Canon... (And should I consider myself very smart to own one? :)) --grin ✎ 08:24, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Sony sensor failures 2002 - 2008
[edit]Several Canon A series cameras from the 2000s suffered from premature CCD failures, as described here: https://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html
Is there a WP page on this issue (similar to the Capacitor plague problem)? John a s (talk) 21:32, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
