Macro capability?

[edit]

The article lists this as not macro capable, but Canon lists it as focusing down to 0.3m. I have the lens, and it also has this printed on the side: "MACRO 0.3m/0.98ft". Granted, at 40mm that's obviously not 1:1 macro, but it's not bad either, about 1:7.5 if I calculated correctly. --MayngueneBanana (talk) 12:03, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have just checked the manual: It says maximum magnification is 0.18×. I know, that for some lenses with a magnification of 0.5 are stated as macro capable (e.g. some Canon lenses like Canon EF 24–70mm f4.0 or the Canon TS-E 50mm lens), but 0.18 is for sure not. Also the manual does not say anything about macro. --GodeNehler (talk) 09:09, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
