Agreed. For most Olympic Games, the organizing committee publishes an official report, and we use those for references. (see all the PDF files here). The 2004 results are not yet available in this format, so the online Yahoo results are the best we have. For what it's worth, I added that reference after I re-formatted the original contents of the page (first written in 2004), and the data still matches, so I think the reference is pretty reasonable to use in the meantime.
