Origin of name

Whence the name Canning? Is it named after Charles Canning, 1st Earl Canning same like Canning Town in London? I also see a Canning Street across the water in Birkenhaed. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 10:07, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
