Service v Services

[edit]

The Newcastle Morning Herald writes, "Mr. H. Ellis will represent the Australian Service Party, which is not to be confused with the Services Party." Earlier, the Herald had confused them. My best guess is that this is (fortunately!) an isolated case. The only other candidate in the SMH results tables with the same party abbreviation as Ellis in Newcastle is Graham in Perth, but the Daily News describes Graham as an independent, supported by the Fighting Services Political Association. This FSPA appears to be a WA organisation, presumably a quite separate entity to whatever Ellis was representing, and perhaps distinct from the Services candidates elsewhere in the country. That's the extent of my searching on this topic; I am editing Ellis's affiliation in Newcastle but will leave Graham in Perth as is. Pappubahry (talk) 12:36, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
