[edit]This is still incomplete. There is a lot of useful information at http://www.astronautix.com/articles/youelled.htm --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk
- This list could be helpful if it is completed, however I don't think those detailed articles on cancelled mission we already have need to be merged here, the article would get way to long then. Why not make this a list with one or two sentences on the mission objective and the reason for cancelling it, and a link to the detailed article if available? It's a bit different than for the Cancelled Apollo missions - for Apollo there was an overall plan with objectives, which was later shortened, but for the Shuttle some missions were cancelled altogether, some had the payload reassigned to unmanned launchers, others were merged. There was no overall developement plan like for Apollo, but many single payloads. andy 16:13, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

STS-13
[edit]There was a space shuttle mission called "STS-13." According to here, it was rumored that STS-13 was the cause of the fact that NASA changed the numbering system (They still remembered Apollo 13). They had a mission patch there.

- STS-13 is STS-41C. Pilot Scobee even designed a fake mission patch depicting the shuttle flying under a black cat. NASA never entirely got rid of the original numbering system. You may have seen 51L called STS-33. That's the reason later flight had an 'R' added on meaning reflight or reuse of the number (STS-26R - STS-33R). Boringguy 00:00, 1 Jan 1970 (UTC)
Cancelled Missions After Columbia
[edit]We need any information on shuttle flights (besides the mission STS-144) that were cancelled after the Columbia disaster occured in 2003. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.16.151.77 (talk • contribs)
- Hmm, this is a good idea, in-line with the articles on the modules of the ISS which were canceled that were manifested to fly. -MBK004 04:23, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
