Which nationality where the Canal Zone Police??

it doesn't say in the article. The way I read it policing duties swapped to Republic of Panama meaning previously the Canal Zone Police where from a different nation. Does this mean they where from the US? To an American this may be implied but to me as a non-American this requires explanation. Thanks--TinTin (talk) 09:51, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
