Earlier discussion and deletion
[edit]This article was nominated for deletion on 11 August 2018. The result of the discussion was delete. |
The premise for deletion that at the time the article was created, significant coverage did not exist on the Canadian Nationalist Party. Now I have added further sources from CBC and Global News about the party. I have significantly improved on the coverage as well. werldwayd (talk) 04:13, 2 October 2019 (UTC)

Information to be added or removed: The terms "white nationalist" and "far right" must be removed
Explanation of issue: CBC never states that the CNP is white nationalist but merely mentions that they are accused of white nationalism. It is not whitewashing and this is not a conflict of interest.
The Party rejects that claim.
The people making that claim (SPLC, ADL) are nefarious for discriminating against social conservatives and traditionalists and have had many lawsuits against them
It is not a fair label and it misrepresents the civic policies of the Party.

- As you've been told, WP:PRIMARY sources are not acceptable.
- Also, you have not declared your CoI. I suggest you do that now.
- Also, when you make a request, do it in the form as explained at {{Request edit}}. Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:18, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
- As for being white nationalists, perhaps the following should be used rather than the more subtle CBC article: https://www.thespec.com/news-story/9530933-people-s-party-leader-maxime-bernier-pictured-with-hamilton-white-nationalist-paul-fromm/ quotes Bernier as calling them "fringe anti-immigration".
- https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/toronto/university-of-toronto-bars-white-nationalist-group-from-holding-rally/article35998204/ writes "The University of Toronto has told a white nationalist group they are not welcome to hold a rally on campus.
- "The group — called the Canadian Nationalist Party — has set up a Facebook page promoting a gathering on campus in September to discuss the nationalist movement in Canada and the future of the country."

- https://www.buzzfeed.com/justinling/canadian-nationalist-party "A new political party is hoping to officially register itself and field candidates in the next Canadian federal election, running on a hard-right, white nationalist platform."

- I don't think your spin is going to work. Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:30, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
@Walter Görlitz, stop being disingenuous and misrepresenting the rules.
1. I am not a member of the Canadian Nationalist Party
2. I have done extensive research on these matters and know much about the proper use of these terms.
3. Primary sources state the views of people and Wikipedia guidelines do not say that you cannot use primary sources
4. You do not have a credible source that explains why it believes the CNP is white nationalist
Objectively, why are you so insistent on hurting the reputations of hundreds of Canadians? Robert-M-Gervais (talk) 02:32, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
- Please do not slander my name or misrepresent my actions.
- (Redacted)
- I don't care how much you claim to know or have done, you are not a recognized expert in anything.
- I have proved four reliable sources that call them White Nationalists and a disreputable politician—but that's a tautology, isn't it?—that do so, and you have a group that is trying to claim they're as safe as milk.
- Objectively, I have to question why you're not explaining your association with the group and why else you're hiding. Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:38, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
@Robert M Gervais, "Not a fair label" my ass. These protestations are made by the CNP completely in bad faith. Anyone can recognize the dog whistles they employ, as demonstrated by this transcript of Travis Patron's speech, "Beware the Parasitic Tribe", at the CNP website:
- "The question remains, as it always shall:
- Is he a member of that 'parasitic tribe'?
- Is he the 'black sheep'?
- A member of the so-called 'inside manipulators'?
- Everywhere these people go, they infiltrate the media, they hijack the central bank, and they infect the body politic like a parasite.
- These people, they walk among us, and you could walk right past them on the sidewalk. You wouldn't think twice about it.
- While we focus our attention on our brothers and our sisters who are with us, not against us, these 'black sheep' hide and they perpetrate and they pull the strings.
- And they laugh about it.
- And they watch us.
- And we fight each other.
- And they profit from our wars.
- And they seek to control and demoralize us in every aspect of what we try to do.
- It's their world and we're just a number to them.
- If they had their way, our entire way of life would be eradicated. They don't like us. In fact, they despise us because of what we are and the spirit we represent. They cannot coexist with it.
- And what we need to do, perhaps more than anything, is remove these people, once-and-for-all, from our country."
We've heard this before. You're fooling no one, Robert M Gervais. Carlstak (talk) 06:03, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

[edit]I removed terms such as "White Nationalist" which inaccurately paint the party in a negative light. Not every member is white, and the party openly advocates for the empowerment of the Aboriginal Peoples of Canada ( https://nationalist.ca/2018/08/17/frank-godon-speaks-indian-act/, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oc9mvMFTB4 ), so White Nationalist can't possibly apply with any degree of accuracy. I also removed sources that refer to the party as "White Nationalist" as this is an inherent mislabel and incorrect, thus rendering such citations as partially illegitimate on account of their erroneous description. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BioMechanicalBulldozer (talk • contribs) 20:11, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
