AIPAC Canada?

[edit]
  • Isn't it just the political arm of the Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy (CIJA)? Basically, it is AIPAC in Canada. Anyhow, if anyone has any info on this, it would be helpful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.180.92.22 (talkcontribs)
  • No, you're thinking of CIJA-PAC, that group folded a couple years ago, and then CJPAC started. CJPAC is independent from CIJA, though they obviously cooperate on things. While I'm not 100% sure what AIPAC does, I think CJPAC is different, in that they don't endorse candidates, but help people get involved with the political process on all sides of the spectrum -- Chabuk T • C ] 13:34, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"only political, national, membership based advocacy organization..."

[edit]

What on earth does this mean?

"CJPAC is the only political, national, membership based advocacy organization in Canada."

It sounds like a qualifier is missing here somewhere (perhaps "Jewish"?). I can think of any number of lobby groups which are political and have a national (i.e. non-regional) focus. I don't know quite what is meant by "membership-based" though I doubt CJPAC is unique in this regard: even if it is, this point should be better explained. --Saforrest 17:28, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
