Photo

[edit]

The caption says "A P-51 Mustang, F-16 and F-22 Raptor in flight during 2007 air show" but the picture is of the CN Tower. Leafhead (talk) 03:02, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The photo does show the named aircraft if you look at the full size version, but it is a poor quality picture. I would personally prefer a better one, if someone has one from this airshow. - Ahunt (talk) 11:12, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Accidents and incidents consensus needed

[edit]

Looking for opinions and consensus.

I have found documented aviation incidents directly related to the CIAS. Some of the incidents are off stage, prior or after show, during show while repositioning off stage. The information all comes from verifiable federal government sources, the government sources all link the incidents directly to the CIAS.

An editor has removed them because he feels (and he is welcome by me to clarify his position if I don't state it properly) the "Accidents and incidents" sections is for 'a&i's' during the actual performance and in front of the crowd only. That 'a&i's' outside public view is not the intention of the article. There is no such restriction in the title of the article. The intention of the article is not clearly defined anywhere.

The way I see it option a: group consensus that all accidents and incidents related to CIAS are included or: option b: start another article for me to include the off stage incidents.

Examples for consideration: 1) (real) debris from 1966 Blue Angel accident injured a helicopter pilot on Toronto Island airport, the crowd didn't see that but it is included as part of the accident.

2) (theoretical) airshow volunteer working at Island airport walks into a P-51 prop and dies after the bird has performed, is this not an airshow accident? Should we not include that?

Thanks

I would say put them both in this article, but in separate sections that have section titles that show the difference. - Ahunt (talk) 20:45, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That suggestion would keep the "Accidents and incidents" consistent with the "List of airshow accidents and incidents" page. TraceyR of that list also makes the distinction of "during" show and "related" to show. If one of you would like to start a new paragraph (or can I do that myself?) and I will clean it all up.
