It would be interesting to add a section about how the museum used to fly some of its exhibits. I don't have the details at hand, but I know that the museum did this in the past. (Strangely, a number of the museums exhibits still carry civil aircraft registrations, although they haven't flown in decades...)

New Photo Needed

[edit]

Could someone get a new museum photo? The present one shows mainly a big green field. The actual museum is difficult to make out. Perhaps an interior shot showing some aircraft?BC 15:44, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did add a nice aerial photo some time ago! - Ahunt (talk) 01:00, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since I wrote the original message in Sept., lots of good photos have been included. Article looks a whole lot better. I like the aerial shot.BC (talk) 02:18, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your positive comment! I thought the article looked pretty bare, so I added all of those. Easy to do when you live nearby the museum! I think it looks a lot better now! - Ahunt (talk) 12:22, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Now that we have some better pictures posted here the second photo File:Canada-aviation-museum.jpg ("big green field" as described above) really looks a bit out of place. Is there any consensus to retain it in the article? If not I will remove it. - Ahunt (talk) 13:50, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
With no objections I will remove it. - Ahunt (talk) 21:58, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gallery?

[edit]

User:Victoriaedwards converted all the photos into a gallery at the top of the article. I have reverted this, as the placing of a gallery at the top is very non-standard. This also leaves a long area of text with no images, just text and a very long list of aircraft. I have tested the page at several screen resolutions and image preferences settings and I really think the right hand row of photos helps to illustrate the list of aircraft in the collection and also makes the article more interesting to the reader. - Ahunt (talk) 22:03, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This edit by NiD.29 converted the list of aircraft to a table. Nothing wrong with that, but it broke the layout somehow, causing the right hand column of photos to all be displayed before the start of the table. This leaves a huge gap of vertical space, so now the "Aircraft in collection" subsection appears empty at first glance. --Colin Douglas Howell (talk) 20:07, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That is odd, it appears fine in Firefox 34.o, which browser are you using? - Ahunt (talk) 21:19, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
*facepalm* Firefox 34.0.5, but I had forgotten that I had one step of Zoom In active. That was the cause. Sorry for the bother. --Colin Douglas Howell (talk) 21:33, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, at least we solved it! - Ahunt (talk) 22:42, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
