[edit]This is a mixtape that he's releasing commercially (think IYRTITL and Logic's latest project). It is NOT a studio album. BlaccCrab (talk) 22:13, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- Way too many random ip's changing this from mixtape to album. I changed it back (once again). It should be protected.
- Not done: requests for increases to the page protection level should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 19:40, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

- Actually that's false. It clearly states to only do it on the request page if the talk page is protected. Thanks for nothing though BlaccCrab (talk) 04:02, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
- Not weighing my opinion on whether this is an album or mixtape. But it seems a certain user has decided that harassing other users was an efficient way of accomplishing his goals. A stern reminder....

- So it would seem: Ty Dolla Sign is back with his new Campaign album, and it features a ton of rappers like Future, Migos, Meek Mill, Travis Scott and Wiz Khalifa. Stream the whole joint on Apple Music right now. See also Amazon.com; it's clearly a $9.49 digital album of original songs, not a dictionary mixtape. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:56, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- @In ictu oculi: Did you even look at the other sources in the article? Only one source called it an album, that's not enough. It's a mixtape, even the artist himself don't consider this as an album [1], and Amazon.com should not be considered as an reliable source, it's in the guidelines (WP:NOTRSMUSIC). TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 06:23, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- @TheAmazingPeanuts: "did you even"? I'll ignore that. Hello, please tell, what is Wikipedia's definition of a mixtape and how is that different from an album? In ictu oculi (talk) 17:50, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- @In ictu oculi: It's based on sources, most of the sources on this article, including the reviews, says it's a mixtape [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. Just because only one website called it an album, doesn't mean it's is one. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 12:16, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Is it. Because possibly that's a problem; "mixtape" in hip-hop language does not mean a mixtape. Which leaves us with the problem, are we speaking hip-hop sourcese in describing digital albums as "mixtapes" which aren't mixtapes. This should be something with subjective reality, not a stylism. In ictu oculi (talk) 18:58, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- @In ictu oculi: No offense but that's not it works nowadays, the label called this project a mixtape, not an album, even the artist say it himself. I know a lot of editors would strongly disagree with you with this topic. I'm going to ping other editors about this project if they want to. Pinging @Walter Görlitz:, @Maintaining:, @SnapSnap:, @Eurofan88: and @Cornerstonepicker: in this discussion. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 13:42, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- What do sources other than the label call it? We call it what reliable sources who know of what they speak call it. So AllMusic, Rolling Stone, Spin and other reputable publications should be consulted. Billboard would be another good choice. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:47, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Walter Görlitz: It's not just the label, it's more of the sources that are in the article, here are the sources [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 13:54, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- But I thought the one well sourced reality about "mixtapes" is that no one agrees what a mixtape is. What is a mixtape? In ictu oculi (talk) 23:16, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- @In ictu oculi: To me, that depends on the sources, if the sources called it an album, I be okay with it. But most of the sources called this a mixtape, not an album. I think we should have this discussion at WIkipedia:WikiProject Albums. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 17:26, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
