What should be done
[edit]Calleva Inc. is a non-profit organization like Martha's Table, and runs programs like those in Category:Summer camps in Maryland. None of these have been marked for speedy deletion. If you have a problem with the way this article is written you may conduct research and rewrite it how you wish, or dispute it. Callevacamp (talk) 16:15, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
FAO Admin - should this page be deleted, I propose that it redirects to Calleva Atrebatum instead. Booglamay (talk) - 17:00, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
When reffering to the Calleva Atrebatum I would expect people to say 'Calleva Atrebatum' instead of simply 'Calleva'. When referring to Calleva Inc. people do just say 'Calleva'.Callevacamp (talk) 18:36, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- It seems you've misread my comment. I said that in the event that this article is deleted, I proposed a redirection. Should this page be deleted, there would be no "Calleva Inc" to redirect to on grounds of notability. Statistically speaking, a Google search of the term "calleva" turns up 8/10 results (front page) pertaining to Calleva Atrebatum. This isn't grounds for moving/deleting/creating articles on its own, but may assert that the shortened name is sufficient (as an abbreviation) to redirect.
- The roman town, along with MANY local businesses, groups etc. are referred to as Calleva. Calleva Atrebatum was one of the largest and most studied Roman settlements in Britain). I can't comment on your company as I've never heard of it. However, if notability is fully established on this page, a redirect will not be necessary. I suspect that this article may end up at AfD shortly though. Booglamay (talk) - 20:47, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- What can I change about this article to make sure this doesn't happen? I believe I have established notoriety, as Calleva offers the largest outdoor program in MD. Is there anything else I should edit? Callevacamp (talk) 13:34, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Over 10000 people come through Calleva every year, and it is just as important as anything else in the 'summer camps in maryland' category, I think. How does it differ from them? Callevacamp (talk) 13:52, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Have a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Calleva - it'll show you the deletion discussion that's going on. It looks as if the article won't be deleted - if so, would you object to (what another editor suggested) moving this article to something like Calleva (summer camp) and use the Calleva page as a redirect to Calleva Atrebatum? Booglamay (talk) - 13:58, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Calleva is not just a summer camp; it has year round programming, and does other things besides 'camping' (I'm still looking for a comparable category). Perhaps we can compromise Is there a template for saying something like "Looking for Calleva Atrebatum? I would gladly put something like this at the top of the page if you wish. Callevacamp (talk) 17:09, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- I have added a hatnote to the page. Does this work for you? Callevacamp (talk) 18:04, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- That would be cool. There's a template that would display as:

Merger proposal
[edit]I propose that Camp Calleva is merged somehow into this page. I don't think the page warrants its own article, but this page may benefit from some of the information to be brought over. Booglamay (talk) - 12:45, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
Could we have some perspective here?
[edit]I had just read an article on another site briefly mentioning the Roman settlement of Calleva and was quite surprised to be sent here when I did a search for that name. Now, I'm sure that this non-profit recreational concern in Maryland is a wonderful thing, but in an encyclopedia catering to English speakers around the world, I don't think there's much question that a lost Roman city in England, in which new archaeological discoveries are still being made, deserves top billing, even if only half of its name is "Calleva."
