Is the spelling Callawayosaurus incorrect? Then it belongs in a footnote to that effect. There is no "sometimes spelled" in scientific writing. In what sense is this a "sea monster"?--Wetman (talk) 15:33, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

in answer to your questions:
  • yes, the spelling is incorrect, it is in a situation similar to Plesioliopleurodon(error for Plesiopleurodon), an error mentioned in the list of plesiosaurs.
  • according to wikiproject sea monsters, the animal has to be a large aquatic fossil, it was based of a BBC documentary, but is now mostly used to work on extinct marine reptile taxa
