Map of district is too small

[edit]

The statewide map showing the location of the district is helpful for that purpose, but a much more closely zoomed map is needed.

I'm trying to tell if my location is included in this district, but the map is so large scale that it is impossible to tell.

WikiPedia really needs an active Map feature to accompany all articles. It is often the case that a person seeking specific information, will want a different zoom or position than is provided in a static map.

For example, in this case of California State Senate Districts: a map that drew the boundaries of all districts, and was zoomable and panable would allow exploration of how and where the various districts meet. It could highlight this 39th district for this article, but allow zooming and panning to explore different aspects of the district geography, and how it interfaces with other districts.

Please advocate for an active Map feature integrated across all of WikiPedia... — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheRealJohnea (talkcontribs) 21:58, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
