Reference issues
[edit]Because there is an ongoing debate about The New Pantagruel, which has been nominated as an Article for Deletion, I looked to see what Wikipedia had to say about Caleb Stegall. Although I am a native speaker of English, I do not live on the North American continent. In the article a reference is made to "GOP orthodoxy". I have always believed that this stood for the conservative view of some of the more traditional members of the Republican Party. But this is obviously not correct. Can someone enlighten me?
The article also refers to prairie populism. Now I am familiar with prairie populism in Canada. I thought that prairie populism (in this case sometimes defined as a mainstream American notion of opportunity and possibility) in the United States had died out before the Depression. Does this mean it is experiencing a revival? I am led to believe that not only Caleb Stegall but people like Henry Wallace were considered prairie populists. Why is this not mentioned in the article on Populism in the United States? Please remember that many people who reference these articles are laymen (who do not always live in the United States) and that the explanation should preferably be worded so they can be understood by everybody. --JHvW (talk) 14:45, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 00:27, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
