Request to add content to our Wikipedia article

Hello editors! I am new to the Wikipedia scene. I am the web developer for Caldwell College and I would like to see a more accurate and complete picture of the college on Wikipedia. After trying to edit my own page, and being told that I shouldn't do that, I was directed here. I hope that a few editors would be gracious enough to add content to the Caldwell College Wikipedia page. We are going to be a University on July 1 of this year and we are celebrating our 75th anniversary this year. There is a rich history and story to be told about this small Catholic liberal arts college, soon to be University. Please let me know how to start to engage editors to add content to our Wikipedia page!Caldwellayang (talk) 13:21, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

  • I'd suggest reading WP:UNIGUIDE for a better understanding of what the guidelines are for this specific type of article. Also, please understand that this article is not your 'own page'; no person or institution 'owns' an article, nor can Wikipedia entries be used as promotional or recruiting vehicles. You were dissuaded from editing here for violations of WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:COI. Given your above comments, there's still reason for concern that your sole interest here is promotional. The change to university status is mentioned in the article. If there are currently inaccuracies add your concerns here so that misleading content may be removed. If after reading the guidelines for colleges and universities you believe there's encyclopedic content that can be reliably sourced, please specify it here, providing those sources, preferably other than the institution itself. • Thanks JNW. The UNIGUIDE definitely helps. I am not here for promotional purposes, but to ensure that there is an appropriate amount of content on the wiki article. I suppose I misunderstood in the beginning about what was appropriate. But now I have a better handle on it. I don't claim ownership of my article, which is why I am not trying to edit the article myself. I am trying to use the proper channels to add encyclopedic content. There seems to be a general lack of information on the academics of our institution (i.e. library and collections, programs offered, etc). The History section was removed due to copyright, and I would like some of that returned since that seems to me to be encyclopedic without being promotional. In essence, I just want to make sure that we are represented on Wikipedia. I want to follow the rules and make sure that I am not asking for something I shouldn't be. The reference to my "own" page is a just a semantic vestige, so I apologize for that. The college has a 75 year history and the information on the college is very minimal. There seems to be areas missing, such as the removed history of the college, the degrees offered, student life, etc. These are elements of colleges and universities that are included in the UNIGUIDE's list of example articles. I hope this clarifies my motive as not being solely promotion.Caldwellayang (talk) 14:05, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

NPOV template

I've read through the article and it doesn't appear to have any NPOV issues anymore. I'm going to remove the NPOV template from the page. If anyone who has worked on this page feels differently, let's discuss it here. --Jay2net (talk) 18:13, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
