Dab page cleanup

[edit]

I have now gone through piece by piece explaining why I have made each edit. The redlinks did not meet MOS:DABRL, because they were not redlinked in an article (from 'What links here') nor were they the Calbuco mentioned in the bluelinked articles on their lines. I am also unclear on wny the bio I added plus the correct formatting of the intro was rv - please, if you disagree with one aspect, reinstate that with a reason in the edit summary, do not wholesale rv. I hope it is now clear why the edits were made. Boleyn2 (talk) 07:22, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've done a bit more tidying including adding geographical context to the items. PamD (talk) 09:05, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, it's now all blue links. MOS:DABRL did not provide for the mass deletions of references. What about grouping related items? There seem to be three groups in Chile. @bio - what means "bio"? But the river link is gone now anyway. I wonder what justifies to have the Portuguese language word here at all? TrueColour (talk) 15:53, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've done more work on this and produced this version. Please stop doing the following:

  • Changing the opening of the dab section away from the standard "Calbuco may also refer to:"
  • Adding geographical subheadings which are not needed or appropriate
  • Changing the link to the volcano: the article is at Calbuco (volcano) and this should be what is displayed in the dab page
  • Removing "Chile" from individual items: Wikipedia is international, and if another item crops up which has the name "Calbuco" but is not in Chile, it is easier to add it if the page is formatted in the standard way.
