Confusing information.
[edit]"He attended school in Wiscasset, Maine, and later taught there in 1838–1839 when he moved to Davenport, Iowa."
This needs to be researched/corrected. Where did he actually teach? Panthar 18:49, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
OK, found this information and fixed that part of the article. Panthar 19:20, 7 November 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Panthar (talk • contribs) {{{2}}}
Merger of the 2 Cadwallader Washburn articles
[edit]I am in favor of merging the two articles about Cadwallader Washburn into one article provided the references/citations/footnotes in the 2 articles are retain and preserve. It took lots of hard work on my part to research and put in the citations in the Calwallader Colden Washburn article. The idea of good faith editing needs to be preserve for the 2 articles especially with the various references/footnotes/citations/external links. Thank you-RFD (talk) 14:22, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Clarification: It was the Cadwallader C. Washburn article the more complete article that I work on. I just went to the other article to try to add a Reflist. That article made reference to the Payner book about Washburn. Somewhere along the line there was a defect of some sort in the citation format. If references to the Payner book can be incorporated in the main article that I had work on that would be fine with myself. Thank you-RFD (talk) 14:39, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
I have tried to merge the two articles as constructively as possible, putting the facts in relevant places. Some of the sentences might need to be moved around to enhance the flow of the article. I would like to see all of the information I have provided kept in the article, I did a lot of research and have tried to keep the citations in tact. The citations at the ends of my paragraphs are for the entire paragraph, the number is the page number I got the information from in the Paynter book. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shriek1 (talk • contribs) 19:43, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Hi! You are doing a pretty good job. Excellent research. I live in La Crosse, Wisconsin and I am familiar with Governor Washburn. His bust and private papers are at the La Crosse Public Library.Thanks again.RFD (talk) 22:33, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- After you two merged the Cadwallader Colder Washburn into this article, I changed the old article into a redirect per Help:Merging and moving pages directions. Cadwallader Colder Washburn is his common name and a plausible term that users could be searching for. Royalbroil 01:01, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- Many thanks for your help-RFD (talk) 01:46, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

General updates forthcoming
[edit]I have some sources to help clarify some of the points in the article, but rather than doing a big edit I am going to "nickel and dime it" so that if anyone has further clarification on a single issue, it will be easier to find. Note, for example, that there are no citations currently for the "Education and early career" section, so rather than put "citation needed" I will just put the references I know about, but then this requires rewording since the references I have do not always corroborate what was written. (I hope what I am saying makes sense.) LaurentianShield (talk) 22:02, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
