Airport ownership
[edit]Dear sir who removed my edit. What proof do you need that the property is privately owned? It has been owned by "SOUTHWEST SOARING" since the the 1960's, and the company still owns the property, not the city of caddo mills. I can provide any documentation that you need so this page has accurate information and not false information on it. Regards, Marshall Smith vw.smith678@gmail.com
- Information on providing reliable published citations may be found at WP:CITE. Regarding ownership of the airport, both the Texas Department of Transportation and the FAA show the airport owner as the City of Caddo Mills. According to the Hunt County Appraisal District database, Southwest Soaring owns the airport buildings and hangars, but the city owns the runways, taxiways, and peripheral undeveloped land, and has owned this land since it was deeded to the city by the federal government in 1947. As I suggested in my edit summary, hybrid public-private management arrangements are not unusual with small municipalities, which often lack the resources to hire dedicated permanent staff to run an airport. A properly sourced discussion of the management arrangement would be appropriate (and welcome) in this article. By the way, info on proper formatting for talk page discussions can be found at WP:TALK. Cheers! Carguychris (talk) 14:30, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
