Improvements needed before GA review
[edit]Taking a look at the article, I think it won't meet the good article criteria right off. Here are some things I see that should be improved:
- The lead need to be expanded to reflect the different sections of the article. If there's a major section in the article, it needs at least a sentence in the lead.
- Some sections could probably be merged together. For example, the article probably doesn't need a major section just for the location or the owners. I'm not sure the "points of interest" section is connected enough to the article subject for inclusion here. Try to make sure that any major section in the article stays focused on the main subject.
- There are a lot of references, and so I would expect there to be significantly more content. Try to expand the article with the information from the references, particularly in the architecture and history sections. There are some references in the ref list that aren't cited in the article. They need to be used somehow.
- Make sure that all references are listed properly using things like author, date, publisher, etc. Use the cite template for this, rather than using URLs alone. I use this reference generator a lot, though I recommend reading WP:CITE first.
- Everything in the notes should have citations/references.
- Some of the sources in the further reading section don't seem directly related to the article subject. I don't know, I'll let the article editor(s) check into that.
- A historic site like this will probably have more images available. Try to add some more to the article in appropriate places.
I hope these suggestions help. If you take care of these, you'll go a long way to making it GA-worthy. Cheers, AstroCog (talk) 00:06, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
