Possible "z" episode (or beyond?)
[edit]Not sure whether or not this ought to be included, at least yet, but...
On his blog, Finnemore has stated his intention that Series 4 will not be the end of "Cabin Pressure." He does not state specifically what form any extension will take - whether we will see another series, or whether there might be a one-off special, but does state:
"4) A cliff-hanger is a promise to the audience. It's implicitly saying 'I'm withholding the gratification of giving you the answer now, but trust me, when you get it, you'll think it was worth the wait.' And if you're going to make a promise like that, you'd better be able to back it up, or at least think you can. So, although I'm afraid I can't comment on the future of the show at the moment, partly because it's not only up to me, I will say this much, because to be honest I thought it was totally obvious, and I'm amazed there's any ambiguity over it:
It is not and never was my intention that Yverdon should be the last ever episode of Cabin Pressure.
I mean, come on guys, give me some credit. A to Y?"

- Zanzibar? That's the sort of name that Arthur would have some fun with. As Cumberbatch is going global and Finnemore is on a slower but relentless upward trajectory I suspect that a one-off special is the likely conclusion. Tigerboy1966 23:22, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
- The mystery has been solved: see John's weblog entry "Prepare for final descent". If you like logic quizzes: The destination for the final Z episode is logical, if you remember that Martin went for an interview in Yvedon-Les-Bains in the Y episode, and was offered a job in the country it's in. Think about it... Pollythewasp (talk) 15:31, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
Herc Shipwright
[edit]There's been a bit of to-and-fro recently about whether Anthony Head (Herc) should be on the Starring cast list. I agree with the edits to remove his name from the infobox as Herc is a recurring rather than starring character. When advertised, the show was billed as starring the four main cast memebers, even in the seasons where Herc was recurring. --LukeSurl t c 12:36, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

[edit]I'm not very well up on the rules regarding images, but I think the one uploaded for the infobox here may be too high resolution to be permissible as fair use. Someone who knows about these things should check. --Walnuts go kapow (talk) 18:26, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
- Well spotted, I've tagged it for reduction. - X201 (talk) 00:14, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
Fitton on the map
[edit]In the "From A To Z" collection, there is a map of all the locations, including the fictional Fitton, which is located in the Midlands area. Do you think we should add it to the map this article currently has, or possibly get a scan of the map and upload it to the article? ISD (talk) 19:55, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- I would say, just cite the "From A to Z" map, and add the location to the map that's already here. That way, we avoid any copyright headaches. --Walnuts go kapow (talk) 07:27, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- OK. I think it might also be wise to create a third map for all the locations set in the British Isles, as the European map is getting too crowded. ISD (talk) 11:16, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- IMO I think a UK map woulds be overkill. It's not like there's going to be any more locations. --LukeSurl t c 14:25, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Merger proposal
[edit]I propose List of Cabin Pressure characters be merged into this article. cagliost (talk) 15:53, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
Right order?
[edit]Shouldn't episodes 7 and 8 be swapped, since G comes before H in the alphabet? I see this is the order in the BBC episode guide (which may be the source for this page), but that might be an error. --Ilja.nieuwland (talk) 22:40, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Ilja.nieuwland: That's the broadcast order. From the article:
Each episode is named after a different city (often a destination for MJN in the episode) each beginning with successive letters of the alphabet. The episodes were not broadcast in alphabetical order, but The Complete Cabin Pressure: From A to Z collection does play the episodes alphabetically
--LukeSurl t c 16:12, 8 January 2019 (UTC)- That's a bit of a hit for my OCD side, but I'll take it. Thanks for explaining! --Ilja.nieuwland (talk) 08:08, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
