[edit]Can we translate "Caño Negro?" Does it mean "grey haired black man?" --Mrcolj (talk) 15:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- @Mrcolj: Hehe, Caño Negro is a proper place name, for the wetland and for Caño Negro District, after which the refuge is named, translation would mean something like "Black Swampy Rivers with Lakes", a caño, geographically speaking, is like a slow flow river that grew to a lake on some places, don't know the proper english equivalent yet, if you know, we can add the toponymy to both this place and the district. :-) Roqz (talk) 16:52, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you! I assure you (and hope) I asked that out of curiosity in 2008, and not my somehow not understanding it's a proper name, although the tone is certainly ambiguous!--Mrcolj (talk) 16:20, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
