How well sourced is this?

[edit]

I was watching YT. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mUOWAKWGG0o

Note it's July 18 1981. Note who the SECW Tag Team Champions are...

Further to the above..

https://www.whenitwascool.com/se-continental-198106

Condrey & Rose won their fourth SECW Tag Title from Bob and Brad Armstrong in the week ending June 6 1981. Whereas this article's title reigns/changes are all over the place.

Would it be WP:OR for someone to go through the "When It Was Cool" website, and draw up an accurate History of these Tag Titles? The reality looks very different to this article

Can people edit article, based on When It Was Cool?

[edit]

Someone has gone to great lengths to create the SECW website "When It Was Cool", covering the promotion from October 1980 to June 1985. This tries to collect all matches, along with YT links of existing television episodes. Watching/reading through the tremendous work done for When It Was Cool, concerning The SECW Tag Titles, I've watched through July 1981 so far, and discovered clear differences between historical reality and this article.

1) Paul Orndorff only entered SECW in January 1981. The Orndorff/Austin title win in 1980 never happened.

2) Regarding Condrey and Rose..they won and lost the tag titles in December 1980. Their win over the Armstrongs in January 1981 is explicitly said to be their second title win, and their winning the tag title tournament for the vacant titles, after injuring Austin is explicitly said to be their third. Further evidence that the Condrey/Rose&Austin/Orndorff 1980 title switches never existed.

3) The JUNE 6 1981 television episode shows footage of Condrey/Rose defeating the Armstrongs in the week before June 6 to win what is explicitly said to be their fourth tag title reign as a team. And, as of the JULY 18 1981 episode, they are STILL in their fourth tag title reign.

(It is possible that they lost then regained the titles in the period July 19-27 1981, but there is nothing to suggest that that ever happened.)

4) Incredibly, Brad Armstrong & The Shadow are listed as holding the SECW Tag Titles for 84 days, despite never holding the tag titles at all! The May 4 1981 card was the first night of a two-night tournament to crown new tag champions after the Armstrongs vacated the titles. The final match, on May 5 1981,ended in a double-disqualification, meaning NOBODY won the tag titles on May 4 1981. And the titles remained vacant for the next couple of weeks.

5)Thus the reigns from 46-55 here are not accurate. (Possibly others too.. )

A more accurate list of SECW Tag Title reigns from October 1980 through August 1981 is..

1) The Big C's(Don Carson and Dennis Condrey)

2) Robert Fuller & Jos De Luc (October 7 1980)

3) Ron Bass & Super Pro(Randy Rose) (October 1980)

4) Bob Armstrong & Jos De Luc (November 1980)

5) Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose (December 1980)

6) Bob & Brad Armstrong (December 1980)

7) Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose (2) (January 1981)

8) Norvell Austin & Paul Orndorff (February 21 1981)

VACANT on February 28 1981(Austin injured)

9) Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose (3) (March 1 1981, win one-night tournament for vacant titles)

10) Bob & Brad Armstrong (2) (April 27 1981)

VACANT May 2 1981, as a result of Bob Armstrong injury. A tournament is held May 4 & 5 1981 to determine new champions, but final ends in a double-disqualification.

11) Bob & Brad Armstrong (3) (Week before May 23 1981. Defeat Condrey & Rose to regain held- up tag titles.)

12) Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose (4) (Week before June 6 1981)

13) Bob Armstrong & Robert Fuller (August 25 1981)

Checking through edit history, the original page was created, without sources, and everyone has just gone along with that ever since. Going by actual sources, there are several errors. (Plus, the person who created this incorrect article put a rant on his page about everyone going to Hell!)
