TriMet

[edit]

@Truflip99: Do you have any interest in updating this article about TriMet? There may be other sources about public transit to incorporate as well. I've been focusing on other areas so far. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:04, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to get on this if I have time. --Truflip99 (talk) 01:25, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Truflip99, Thanks! I took a first stab here. Not sure if there's more to add or not but any improvements are welcome. Stay safe, ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:10, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]

A couple of comments:

1) I'm not sure that the space given to strippers responding to the coronavirus is warranted. Maybe a sentence but not a paragraph. It's really not a large part of the Portland economy, is it? It seems sensationalistic.

2) Archbishop Sample last week cancelled all Masses in Catholic churches, not just those over 250 people. Catholic churches are effectively shuttered.

3) Conservative blogs are reporting that there was looting in the Pearl District and gives all sorts of sensational reasons for it, like the release of people from jails. I keep tabs on the local news and have heard nothing about this, have you?

That's it! Liz Read! Talk! 00:13, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

1) The stripper story is about one third the length of the religion section. It seems appropriate given its uniqueness and the info required to describe it.
3) KPTV says three businesses in NW (not Pearl) boarded up and reports of seven vandalism events, KGW says 'all over town', KATU reports, KATU again; here's the 'gateway pundit' article you are probably referring to from the far-right side. They say "vandals smashed out windows of seven businesses in Portland’s fancy pants Pearl District.", which is farther than the KPTV report goes (no mention of broken glass elsewhere). tedder (talk) 18:22, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz: I welcome your edits to make the text about Catholic churches more accurate or up to date. There may be other sources to incorporate into the page. @Tedder: Similarly, I welcome expansion of the Crime section. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:03, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
