  • As per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages)#Linking to a primary topic: I placed the link back to the primary topic CBS in the introductory line. I also removed the link to CBS Corporation since there is already a redirect to this topic at the top of CBS and one would only stumble upon the CBS (disambiguation) page by first jumping to the CBS page.
    • I also removed all of the references to the subsiduaries, such as CBS News and CBS Sports since someone looking for these topics would not likely type only "CBS" as their search, and even if they did, there are links to all of these pages on CBS
  • Removed "Columbus, WI (Amtrak station code: CBS)" since this does not direct the user to a link about the topic "CBS" and is really only serves as an example of the use of the letters "CBS."
  • Removed "Campus Bus Service of Kent State University, now part of the Portage [County] Area Transportation Authority" since there is no specific page regarding this service and undoubtedly anyone looking for this topic would already know it was a service of Kent State University
  • Removed link to Cauchy–Bunyakovski–Schwarz inequality since there is no reference to it as "CBS" on that page and if anything I would assume some refer to it as the "CBS inequality"
  • Removed Core Banking Solution since this truly redirects to a very slim page simply titled Core banking and neither that page, nor the two external links it provides as references, mention the acronymn "CBS".
  • Removed Central Bus Station since this just redirects to Bus station and while this page does mention Tel Aviv Central Bus Station there is no indication that it is simply known as "CBS" either
  • Removed CBS catalyst, CBS reduction because these topics simply include the letters "CBS" but are not topics simply known as "CBS"

Certainly if anyone disagrees with anything I've removed they can feel free to place them back on this page, but I would first suggest that they read Wikipedia:Disambiguation and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) first. Marchije (talk) 02:11, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Terms that don't have a Wikipedia article (yet)

[edit]

@ User:FleetCommand: Please correct me if I am wrong but these abbreviation lists are also valid for important terms that don't have a Wikipedia article yet, aren't they? In particular I would like to have both terms (they are different things): Community-based sanitation and container-based sanitation - but you have deleted the community-based sanitation term. Can I put that back in? EvMsmile (talk) 23:14, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think according to MOS:DABNOENTRY, it shouldn't be here. But I won't revert you if you put it back. Just if anyone asked, tell them I protested vehemently. FleetCommand (Speak your mind!) 23:20, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I looked at the link that you sent but it didn't really answer my question - or at least I didn't fully understand it... So for now I will put it back in and see if others object as well. EvMsmile (talk) 23:30, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
